How to Write Interesting Self-Help Books

How do you go about writing exciting and unstoppable self-help books? Well, that is what this article is about. Why don’t you read on?

First of all, do some soul-searching in order to find out which topic relevant to self-help interests you and about which you already have a good grip on. It could be about health and fitness, peace of mindfulness, meditations, dissolving your worries or anything else relevant to self-help. Once that is done, go to the next step.

You should be aware of which audience is appropriate for your book topic and make it available to them in the right categories in a book store. Keeping your audience as the target, you should continue writing with your book. Keep asking yourself if what you are writing is something that will satisfy your audience. If you get the answer as “No”, you need to detour a bit every now and then, pause, take your attention to something else and come back to where you left. You may find that you are now bombarded with ideas. It is always good to take rest and come back to your work.

Under your topic, write subtopics that will make up the chapters of the book and therefore, complete the book. It may turn out that one of your subtopics captures your interest more and also appeal to you more. In that case you can choose that particular subtopic as the main topic and write subtopics under it.

Give vivid real-life examples either from your life experiences or somebody else’s in order to backup and emphasize the points you are making in each chapter. People like stories; so giving short examples in the form of stories under your subtopics wouldn’t hurt.

Look for good quotes relevant to your book title. If you have time, research for beautiful quotes for each chapter otherwise you can just begin with a powerful quote in the preface and end with another powerful one in the conclusion.

Your book should be divided into front cover, copyright information, disclaimers if any, preface, table of contents, the contents of relevant chapters one after another as mentioned in the table of contents, conclusion, your biography (optional), and any other information regarding references to your past relevant works, blogs, sites or products, and lastly the back cover.

Keep reading a wide range of self-help books that interest you. Sooner or later you will hit on a topic that really speaks to you, which you would definitely like to convey to your targeted audience.
